30 for 30-Day 7 (Work)

I've never posted anything about work before so since I have nothing else interesting to say today's post is about my job. I've been at my new job for 2 1/2 months now and I love it. I work at a dog and cat rescue and rehabilitation center. Most days I would out at the ranch were the dogs spend the night and we do training and stuff there. On the weekends I work at the adoption center. Here are some pictures from my day yesterday at the ranch.

This is Bean he is a black lab mix and such a cool dog. He is in our small outdoor run.
Here's the whole run. The small side and then the big side. It's huge and great for the dogs to have a place to run around.
Playing fetch with a 6 year old black lab named Drake. He is such a happy dog.

Drake and Jack (A black lab/Dane mix)
The outside of the dog kennels. Each dog has a door to the outside that we can open to let them out. It's a pretty sweet set-up.
The wall next to the bathroom. The artwork just cracks me up.
The bathroom doors.
The inside small dog mosh pit.
This is Belle. She is uber awesome.
This is Sandy, she is a really sweet pit mix.

Obviously I like Sandy. :)

These kitties are Paris, Prudy and Picasa. Yep, I named them. LOL
This is Simon, he is a Siamese mix and looks like a cougar to me. He is HUGE!
This is Sterling. I love his eyes.
This is Morgana.
Well, those are pictures of work. Pretty exciting. And if you see anything you like all these animals are ready to find their forever homes. (Shameless plug)

Catch Up Post #3-First Day at Work

I've been asking my boss for months if I could bring my dog to work with me and he would always brush off the question and say he would get back to me later. I think he thought that she would be distracting or something. I finally got him to agree to a trial day so he could see how it would work. I was so excited and wanted Picassa to behave herself so I took her for a long walk beforehand. I think it worked because she was perfect at work and my boss was so impressed. I took her over to meet him when we got there and she did great and let him pet her without mouthing him (something we are working on, she seems to enjoy. . . tasting new people, it's so annoying but she is improving) and sat so nicely while I told him my plan of making it work with her there. After our shift he told me he really enjoyed having her there and that she is welcome back anytime. YAY!! Here are some pictures of Picassa's first day at work:

[Picassa laying nicely next to a desk she is tied down to while I vacuum the classroom.]
[Picassa didn't care about the vacuum at all. She is laying calmly on the floor with her head tilted to the side while staring at the vacuum that is inches away.]
I walked into one of the classrooms and there was a little man made out of newspapers attached to a desk. It nearly gave me a heart attack but Picassa didn't seem to care.

[Picassa sitting in front of the newspaper man.]

There was a bunch of cereal spilled in the hall that we passed about 10 times and Picassa ignored it every time. I was really impressed with her.
[Picassa sitting with cereal all over the floor in front of her.]
[Picassa sitting in the elevator with my big garbage can next to her.]
[Close up and at ground level of Picassa fast asleep on the floor]
[Picassa getting impatient towards the end of my shift and refuses to lay down so she rested her head on the seat of one of the desks.]
I could not be prouder of the girl. She has done great each time I have brought her since then.
Anyway, I think that's it for tonight but I still have a few more posts that I'll put up tomorrow. G-night everyone!

Paris at Work

This is my third post for the night, so make sure to skim over the other two if you want. :D

I finally got the okay to take Paris to work with me. I am so happy she can come. My boss didn't even know she was there until the last little bit of my shift when I took her out potty. As I said a couple posts ago I work at a doggie day care and boarding place. She hangs out around back with me, I don't let her out with the other dogs! She does get a little concerned when I go out with them and leave her, but she will be fine. She has a nice little set up there too. A big cushy bed and toys. I have a spot to tie her down when I need her out of the way but usually she just follows me around.

Here she is in front of the small dog pen. She doesn't seem at all interested in the other dogs at all. She just likes to follow me.
Laying down while I wash all the feeding bowls. She is so patient.
And, I set up a dog bed for her and she chose the scale to lay on. (She weighs exactly 53 pounds, just in case you wanted to know. :D She is .3 pounds lighter than Fuller. . . hmm. . .
She is GREAT at work. And it really wore her out. She hasn't moved since we got home.

She has been a wonderful little puppy and I think she knows that I miss Fuller. She is being extra sweet and extra good. I just love this girl!! I don't think Paris minds being an only dog at all. She loves all the extra attention and there is more room now that the second kennel is moved out and she has the puffy princess bed with the two stacked on top of each other. She's not complaining at all. :D
